BENEFITS OF COLD PRESSED - OILS
1. Superior Nutritional Value

Unlike refined oils, which are stripped of nutrients during high-heat processing, cold-pressed oils retain most of their natural goodness.
-
Rich in Vitamin E: They contain high levels of Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage.
-
Essential Fatty Acids: They are packed with essential Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, which the body cannot produce on its own.
-
Retains Antioxidants: The low-heat extraction preserves natural antioxidants that help fight inflammation and boost immunity.

2. Heart Health & Wellness

-
Cholesterol Management: Cold-pressed oils (like groundnut and sesame) are often rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which help lower "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and maintain "good" cholesterol (HDL).
-
Chemical-Free: They are extracted without the use of industrial solvents like Hexane, which is commonly used to extract refined oils.
-
Anti-Inflammatory: Many cold-pressed oils, such as olive and flaxseed oil, possess natural anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

3. Culinary Benefits (Flavor & Aroma)

-
Authentic Taste: Because they are not deodorized or bleached, they retain the original nutty or earthy flavor of the seed (e.g., the distinct aroma of mustard oil or the sweetness of coconut oil).
-
Enhances Food: They add a rich, distinct flavor profile to salads, curries, and dressings that neutral refined oils cannot match.
-
Less Oil Needed: due to their higher viscosity and richer flavor, you often end up using less oil while cooking compared to refined alternatives.

4. Skin and Hair Care

Cold-pressed oils are excellent carrier oils for beauty routines because they are pure and nutrient-dense.
-
Deep Moisturizer: Oils like coconut and almond penetrate the skin deeply to hydrate without clogging pores.
-
Anti-Aging: The high Vitamin E content helps fight free radicals, potentially reducing fine lines and aging signs.
-
Hair Strength: Massaging the scalp with cold-pressed oils (like sesame or olive) can strengthen hair roots and reduce breakage due to the retained proteins.

5. Environmental & Safety Benefits

-
Eco-Friendly: The extraction process requires less energy and produces fewer industrial by-products compared to the heavy refining industry.
-
No Preservatives: These oils are typically free from synthetic preservatives like BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene), which are sometimes added to refined oils to extend shelf life.

Important Considerations

-
Shelf Life: Because they lack preservatives, cold-pressed oils have a shorter shelf life (usually 6 months). They should be stored in dark glass bottles away from sunlight.
-
Smoke Point: Some cold-pressed oils have a lower smoke point than refined oils. They are best for sautéing and low-medium heat cooking, rather than high-heat deep frying (with the exception of cold-pressed Groundnut and Mustard oil, which handle heat relatively well).
